rakesh roshans new project...

Rakesh Roshan's international project starring Hrithik Roshan has been surrounded with controversy ever since production was initiated. The production for Kites has been continuously stopped for several reasons. One of the major reasons was when the cinematographer of the film left the film midway and left Rakesh Roshan and his crew running from pillar to post searching for a new cinematographer. The most recent shock to Rakesh Roshan was from the line producer of the film. Rakesh Roshan has not only fired his line producer for the film in Miami, but is also contemplating legal action against him.Reports reveal that the unit was scheduled to film in Miami for a period of 15 days. However, due to the line producer's erratic behavior, the shooting could not be completed and a crew of over 70 people had to wait aimlessly in Miami for 10 days.
Rakesh Roshan is currently working on hiring a new line producer and revisiting Miami with his crew to complete the shooting that was left unfinished.

story of rab ne bana di...............

king khan has played a pre dominant role in rab ne...Have you ever stopped to think if the most ordinary, uninteresting, unobtrusive man you might see on the road or around you might have a love story to tell?Maybe not! How can an ordinary man have a breathtaking, goose flesh igniting, awe inspiring love story of all things to tell? But guess what - love does not differentiate between the ordinary and exceptional, the uninteresting and interesting, the unattractive and attractive. Because love knows no distinction. It can happen to anyone and once it does it engulfs us into it completely and gives us those miraculous experiences that only love can yield. This is what happened to Surinder Sahni (Shahrukh Khan) - a simple, clean hearted, honest man working for Punjab Power, leading a humdrum life, when he meets his total opposite and finds love in the flamboyant, fun-loving, vivacious - Taani (Anushka Sharma) for whom the whole world is her canvas and she paints her own life with the colours of rainbow all until unforeseen circumstances changes it all and brings them together. What follows is a journey filled with laughter, tears, joy, pain, music, dance and a lot of love. A journey that makes us believe that there is an extraordinary love story in every ordinary jodi.

more about hrithik roshan........

Hrithik Roshan (born January 10, 1974), nicknamed Duggu, is a prominent Bollywood actor.
CareerHrithik’s first movie role was as a child artist when he was six years old in the 1980 movie Aasha, when he appeared in a dance sequence as an extra. He went on to appear in Aap Ki Deewane (1980) and Bhagwan Dada (1986). He then became an assistant director for his father’s films Karan Arjun (1995) and Koyla (1997).
He made his debut as a leading man in the 2000 film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai opposite another debutante actress Amisha Patel. The film was directed by his father and proved to be very successful at the box office: It was the highest grossing film of 2000 and winner of the Filmfare Best Movie Award. Hrithik’s performance earned him the Filmfare Best Debut Award and the Filmfare Best Actor Award. That same year, Hrithik also starred in Fiza and Mission Kashmir which were only moderately successful at the box office. As Child artist in Bhagwan Dada (1986)In 2001, Hrithik starred in Yaadein which was a failure at the box office and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham which did extremely well at the box office, becoming the second-highest grossing film of 2001.He had a bad year in 2002 when all three of his releases - Mujhse Dosti Karoge!, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage - failed to make an impact the box office and were declared flops.
In 2003, his career was back on track with Koi Mil Gaya, which Hrithik’s father Rakesh directed. It was the highest grosser of the year. It won many Filmfare Awards, including another Filmfare Best Actor Award for Hrithik.
He only had only one release in 2004, Lakshya, directed by Farhan Akhtar. Lakshya did not do as well at the box office as expected but critics called it his most impressive performance so far.
Hrithik took a two-year break from acting before resurfacing with the superhero film Krrish which released in June 2006. Krrish has been a major box office success.
His most recent release is Dhoom 2, a sequel to the 2004 hit Dhoom, in which he played a negative role (a villain) for the first time. The film released on November 24, 2006 and is the biggest raw grosser in Bollywood history.
His forthcoming films are Jodha-Akbar ,Sashank, Kismat Talkies, Delhi 6 which are scheduled release in 2007. Personal life
Hrithik Roshan was born in Mumbai, India, to Pinky and actor/director Rakesh Roshan. He is the nephew of well-known music director Rajesh Roshan.
Roshan is married to Sussanne Khan (who is now Sussanne Roshan), his high-school sweetheart. Sussanne is the daughter of actor/director Sanjay Khan and sister of actor Zayed Khan. Film clans (see List of Bollywood film clans) tend to intermarry.
Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne Khan/Roshan had their first child, a baby boy, on March 28, 2006, at 3:08pm at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, India. The child was named Hrehaan. Controversy
In 2001, a rumour alleging Roshan to have made bad remarks on Nepal and its people caused an outrage in the country. Several newspapers carried the report, leading to student protests, in which four people died. The unrest the protests caused forced the government to cancel a flight from Kathmandu to India.[11]Later the Indian embassy and the actor himself clarified that he had made no such disparaging remarks against Nepal.
In 2006, at the London press conference for his film Krrish, Roshan said that he knew it was time to leave Shanghai and Hong Kong after six weeks of stunt training and go home when his eyes started “turning into little slits like the Chinese”. Trivia
Hrithik has a supernumerary thumb on his right hand. Hrithik’s additional thumb is clearly visible in this picture, taken at the sets of KrrishHis film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai entered the Limca Book of Records in 2003 for the most number of Awards won by a Bollywood Film - 102 awards.

Big B, Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan coming January.........

This is because as many as 3 biggies are expected to arrive with Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan featuring in them.
Come 18th January and Ravi Chopra produced BHOOTNATH would hit the screens. Directed by debutant Vivek Sharma, the film stars Amitabh Bachchan in the title role with Shahrukh Khan in a special appearance. The film also stars Juhi Chawla.
A week later Hrithik and Salman are expected to clash with their JODHA AKBAR and MERA BHARAT MAHAAN coming together.
While no more delays are expected in UTV production JODHA AKBAR which has Hrithik in the lead, one wonders if Sameer Karnik would have a change of heart and push his Salman Khan starrer MERA BHARAT MAHAAN which also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Sohail Khan and Preity Zinta along with Tulip Joshi and Vatsal Sheth?

unknown treasures ap

When Bets finally relented to my pestering and naggings about visiting Hyderabad for a weekend, I was one triumphant soul and the weekend planner was opened. But planning a trip is not as easy as planning a project. Specially, when u’re particularly sick of visiting the same ol’ places cos the itinerary was always the same whenever somebody landed here, Ramoji, Golconda, Birla Mandir, Hussain sagar (though not necessarily in that order). So this time, we decided to go someplace else, where we could not jus strain our eyes, but also give some exercise to our legs, which had become a li’l too cramped by jus sitting in office.17th February, ’07, relishing the traditional Hyderabadi biriyani and Pakistani mutton curry at Shadab near Charminar, Sandy had a brainwave. Let’s go to Bongiri, he exclaims and we stare at him, a li’l stupefied. Forget the fact that we all are still new to Hyderabad, but at least he should be shouting some names which are very famous on the tourist destinations. He immediately calls up his colleague and gets an idea on the direction. Itz somewhere in uppal, says he. Where’s Uppal??? We’ll find out. Never knew it was such an important city in Hyderabad. So there we started off to this unknown place, with not an iota of idea as to what lay in store for us ahead…….I proclaimed myself as the official guide, who did full justice to her role as she got the others thoroughly confused, and helped the whole group get lost twice or thrice. But then what more does one expect from such a thoroughly unplanned trip!!!!So the foursome awesome started on their trip to Bongiri. This fort is 51kms from Hyderabad and is on the Uppal road. We started at around 2.30pm from Shadab (Charminar) and reached our destination a little after 4. Our journey was pretty comfortable, considering the fact that the sun was beating into our eyes while we were riding. The road was very smooth, and the traffic was bearable throughout the journey.Known as Bhongir Fort to the Andhraites, this fort is located upon a single hill at Bhongir. More than 500 feet high and spread over an area of 40 acres, the fort was considered practically impregnable by invading armies. Built on the 12th century, it has a unique egg-shaped construction with 2 entry points protected by huge rocks. We started out with jus munch chocolates, and a bottle of water which got rapidly used up even before we reached halfway through. Jenny particularly found a thrill in “discovering” new routes, routes never walked upon before (or so he believed) which could have ultimately ended up all of us in yashoda hospital with a fractured bone or two. But lady luck was with us the whole time and we reached the top quite safely following our Vasco da gama.It will always remain a mystery as to why this place has not been talked of much. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking. Lush greenery all around makes u want for more. There is a small house like structure at the top. Guess it used to be occupied until recently. A small pool is also perched at the top which badly reminds u of the ol’ pearl of wisdom, “Water water everywhere, but not a drop to drink”. We would have given snoopy n goofy n their likes a run for their money as we lolled our tongues out, badly in need of a drop of water. Again lady luck was on our side, as we set our thirsty eyes upon a family, carrying a huge container of water. Always on the lookout for making new friends ;), we befriended our way among them and ended up gorging madly on their precious water, not to forget their hot pakodas also. We were lucky to catch the sun setting down and the sight was just amazing. The sun looked more majestic on its descent downwards with itz golden red rays glazing the countryside, and expressing itz reluctance at having to bid farewell for the day. This was very much our feelings when we realized we had to make our way down like the sun. Our descent was sprinted compared to our snail ascent. But we took our own time, relishing every moment of it, and capturing everything in our cams. Bhongir fort is a good destination for an evening getaway, but be sure to be armed with loads of water, to quench your thirsty appetites.

India, replying to England's first innings score of 316, carried their overnight score of 155-6 to 241-9 by lunch on the third day at the Chidambaram stadium.England's hopes of bringing a quick end to the Indian innings faded as Dhoni and Harbhajan batted through the first hour to make amends for the top order failure on Friday.Dhoni made 53 and Harbhajan contributed 40 before both batsmen fell to left-arm spinner Monty Panesar.Andrew Flintoff removed Zaheer Khan for one, but Amit Mishra (12) and Ishant Sharma (eight) put on 22 valuable runs for the unbroken last wicket by lunch.Dhoni, who resumed at his overnight score of 24, showed his aggressive intent from the start when he cut Flintoff to the point boundary in the second over of the morning. The Indian captain moved to 38 when Ian Bell failed to hold a difficult chance at short-leg off Panesar.Harbhajan should have fallen soon after he edged Steve Harmison down the leg-side to diving wicketkeeper Matt Prior, but umpire Billy Bowden disallowed the catch after consulting his colleague Daryl Harper......Television replays proved inconclusive.
Harbhajan swept Panesar for a four to bring up the 50 partnership and then took two successive boundaries off Harmison to post India's 200.

Mr perfectionist. Amir

Ghajini is about Prashanth Pawar (Amir Khan), a rich businessman who owns a cellular phone company named Air Voice and the events surrounding his relationship with Kalpana (Asin Thottumkal).
Kalpana, an advertisement model goes around telling her advertisement crew that she is the love interest of Prashanth. Kalpana does this in spite of having never met him and also goes to the extent of giving an interview about her relationship to a popular magazine.
Prashanth happens to hear about this through the media and wants to settle scores with her. On his way, he catches a fleeting glimpse of a young woman (who happens to be Kalpana) helping handicapped children to cross a street. It is love at first sight for Prashanth. He moves on to confront Kalpana at her advertisement studio. He is pleasantly surprised to realise that she is the same helpful woman he saw a while ago. He chooses to hide the fact from her that he is Prasad, calling himself as Manohar. Kalpana eventually falls in love with him.
Once, while on a train to Mumbai, Kalpana saves a group of young girls from abuse by a group of goons led by Lakshman (Pradeep Rawat). After a few days, the same goons come to Kalpana’s house in order to avenge their embarrassment. Incidentally, Prashanth arrives at the scene and fights off the goons, but during the ensuing fight, Kalpana is murdered. The irony showcased is that Kalpana never finds out that he is Prashanth.
Lakshman then strikes Prashanth on his head severely with a metal rod. Though he survives the blow, but suffers from a short-term amnesia. At any given time, he does not remember anything that happened more than 15 minutes back, although he frequently has flashbacks of Kalpana’s murder.
He determines to take revenge on those responsible for Kalpana’s death. The rest is how Prasad, along with a medical college student Chitra (Jiah Khan), goes about finding Lakshman and the goons.

Dr Singh prefaced his remarks by saying: “I would like to apologise to our people for the fact that these dastardly acts could not be prevented.” He also noted “with great sorrow” that a number of foreign nationals were victims of the Mumbai onslaught and added: “I have personally spoken and written to leaders of countries apologising for the loss of their nationals.” The external affairs minister, Mr Pranab Mukh-erjee, also the Leader of the House, said, “This is an issue where adequate pressure is to be built up. I have no quarrel with the democratic government of Pakistan.”
But on the question of non-state actors, he said, “Are they coming from heaven? Or did they come from a different planet? The non-state actors are operating from within a particular country. What we are suggesting to the government of Pakistan is that they please act. Mere expression of intention is not adequate.” He added that he did not believe in the strait-jacketed simple formula is a complex situation. We want to encourage democratic institutions, a democratic system in Pakistan, but it is not for us. We cannot deliver this, it is for the people of Pakistan,” Mr Mukherjee said. “And, most respectfully, I would like to submit that simply by raising hysteria that a big power is going to attack, and trying to divert attention by taking the plea of a hoax call from the Indian foreign minister to the Pakistan President is not going to yield results,” he added.
Admitting that there were “gaps” in the intelligence setup, the government said it will take a number of steps, including strengthening laws and setting up a national investigation agency to insulate the country from terror strikes.
In a suo moto statement in the Lok Sabha, Union home minister P. Chidambaram said the government has decided to set up a coastal command for overall security of the 7,500-km coastline and create NSG hubs in various parts of the country as part of measures to make the protective system more effective. He said the government proposes to bring a set of bills “to strengthen the legal provisions relating to the prevention, investigation, prosecution and punishment of terror acts”.

MORE ABOUT CURRENT CRICKET..........

TEST MATCH BETWEEN INDIA AND ENGLAND

England made a slow but steady start, scoring 63 without loss in 27 overs in an uneventful morning session on the opening day of their first cricket Test against India Chennai on Thursday. Electing to bat after winning the toss, England openers Alastair Cook and Andrew Strauss adapted to the slow track which offered little for the fast bowlers in front of a moderate working day crowd that thronged the stadium braving the unprecedented police security. At the lunch break, Strauss and Cook were on identical 31 after facing 80 and 82 balls respectively.
Starting the match after observing two minutes of silence by players of both the teams and match officials, besides wearing black arm bands in memory of the Mumbai terror attack victims, the left handed openers struck three boundaries each for their identical 31 to give England a steady start.
They made their intentions clear by not taking any risk and rarely stepping out to both new ball bowlers, Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma.
Zaheer and Ishant could not extract any swing and movement on the air on a slow track even though they made the England openers hard to score runs.
Even the two spinners -- Harbhajan Singh and Amit Sharma -- got little help from the Chepauk pitch. Harbhajan, who was brought in for Zaheer, in the ninth over of the innings, gave fours runs all to fine in his first over.
Strauss and Cook were cautious in their approach. The duo could not score more than two runs an over in the first hour which saw only one hit to the boundary -- in the sixth over.
No doubt, England openers pushed up the pace of scoring a bit in the later half of morning session but they took 88 minutes and 19 overs (112 balls) to reach their 50 partnership. Both miscued their pull shots on few occasions but no damage was done.
In the 18th over, Zaheer and Indian captain MS Dhoni appealed to the field umpires for change of the ball, which had lost its shape to which Billy Bowden and Daryl Harper obliged.
In the very next over, Dhoni brought on Mishra for Harbhajan and the former turned the ball a bit but there was no relief for India in terms of breaking the partnership.
Earlier, the teams, playing their 50th Test match on Indian soil, named their best elevens. India fielded Yuvraj Singh for retired Sourav Ganguly while Gautam Gambhir returned after one-Test ban. For England, Graeme Swann made his debut.

JAMMAT-U-DUWA AS TERRIOST STUFF ....

Heeding to India's demand, UN Security Council has placed sanctions on Jamaat-ud-Dawa, front organisation of banned LeT, declaring it a terrorist outfit, and labelled as terrorists its chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and suspected Mumbai attacks mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi. Besides Sayeed and Lakhvi, two other top leaders of Lashkar-e-Toyiba, Haji Muhammad Ashraf and Zaki-ur-Bahaziq have also been declared as terrorists by the UNSC.
Imposing the sanctions, the Council late on Wednesday asked all member States to freeze their assets and imposed travel ban and arms embargo against them.
India had sought ban on JuD after LeT was suspected to be behind the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
The decision was taken by the Council's committee on al-Qaeda and Taliban which put JuD and the four individuals on the Consolidated List of persons and entities connected with al-Qaeda and Taliban.
The United States had sought ban on Lakhvi, operations leader of LeT who is suspected to be the mastermind behind the Mumbai attacks, Ashraf, a JuD financier, and Bahaziq, an Indian-born Saudi who was said to collecting funds for the banned organisations in Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan had given pledge to the Security Council that it would proscribe JuD should the Council decide to ban it.
The Committee had imposed sanctions on LeT in 2005, citing its affiliation with al-Qaeda. Pakistan had banned LeT in 2002 but it continues to operate under different names.
Reacting to the decision, the United States said it is pleased that the Committee has decided to move forward on these high-priority designations.
"These actions will limit the ability of known terrorists to travel, acquire weapons, plan, carry out, or raise funds for new terrorist attacks," Office of the Spokesman said in a statement.
The actions, it said, reaffirm the Council's commitment to updating the Consolidated List to ensure it continues to serve as a tool to help member states deter terrorist activities of al-Qaeda and affiliated groups.
During the debate in the Security Council on Tuesday, Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed had said the Jamaat-ud-Dawa and other such organisations need to be proscribed internationally and effective sanctions imposed against them.
"Their country of origin needs to take urgent steps to stop their functioning," he had said while intervening in a debate on terrorism in UN Security Council.
"A message must also go out that perpetrators of terrorist acts must be brought to book and not given sanctuaries in some states," Ahamed had said.
The minister had asked Pakistan to act against terrorism emanating from its soil, failing which India will "do everything to protect its citizens."
Close on the heels of Ahamed's hard-hitting remarks, Pakistan's Ambassador to UN, Abdullah Hussain Haroon, had promised that Islamabad would proscribe JuD should the Council decide to put sanctions on it after declaring it a terrorist group.
Besides this, no training camps for Lashkar-e-Toiba d organisations connected to terrorism last May, but the moves were blocked by China. A similar attempt in April 2006 was also blocked by Beijing.

srk moments at shooting spot of rab ne....

For the Hindi film industry, this is a huge step forward. Come December 12 and Hindi film releases will become a truly global phenomenon with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi releasing across 30 countries worldwide.
And when Dutchmen and Germans and Swiss and French and Danes and Norwegians join thousands of overseas Indians in swaying to the sounds of ‘Dance Pe Chance’ and ‘Haule Haule’, they will know what we have always known – that there is nothing quite like Hindi cinema to transport you to a different world and take your blues away.
